About This Site

Taking photographs is usually a great pleasure for me. However, on some days I just don't feel the impetus to get my camera out of the bag and make some pictures. Not all days seem to lend themselves to taking photographs and sometimes it is just a case of being too lazy/busy/distracted/grumpy to make the effort. Of course this means that I actually miss lots of great opportunties and my photographic equipment can sit unused, sometimes for several days or even weeks.

So, I thought that if I just set myself the simple target of taking one picture a day and posting it on this site, I might be able to become a bit more disciplined and hopefully get some decent photographs that I wouldn't have captured otherwise. I imagine that this will be tricky to manage on some days as even just taking one picture, downloading it and then posting it to this site will take some time. However, my hunch is that it will be worth the extra effort and it might result in me getting some interesting images.

Having said this, there might be the odd day when I simply just can't post a picture and I hope you'll forgive these occasional abberations. Hopefully you'll enjoy checking in from time to time to see the day's photo. If you want to see past pictures then you can either browse the archive section of the site or use the search options provided. For example, searching using the word ‘nature’ would bring up all the photos in the archive that have been tagged with this keyword.

My name is Jeremy Burton. I currently work full-time as a university lecturer. I also manage to fit in some web design work. I designed and built this site myself and I specialise in designing sites for creative arts practitioners. If you're looking for the services of a web designer then please check me out at www.cyberpod.co.uk.

As you can see, I'm generally well occupied, but when I do get some spare time I like to take photographs with my Nikon D200. I've been taking photographs since I was about 11 years old and I began taking digital pictures when I bought myself an Olympus E20 about five years ago.
